Mookie Betts Placed on Injured List: Latest Dodgers Roster Update

The 31-year-old Betts has been added on the short-term injury list for 15 days. He was struck by a pitch in yesterday’s game during the seventh inning, and as a result, he will be added on the disabled list for the first time this year.

During his 72 games, he batted.304, had 10 home runs, and 40 RBI. After five seasons with the Dodgers, the 2018 American League MVP slashed.285/.377/.532, with 123 home runs and 433 runs scored in 433 games. Over his 1,337 games in the Major Leagues, the seven-time All-Star has collected 262 home runs and 796 RBI. Out of Overton High School, he was first selected in the fifth round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft.

Miguel Vargas

Vargas, 25, is back with the Dodgers for a second stint. In eight games, he hit.250 with three doubles, one home run, and four RBI. After spending portions of three seasons with the Dodgers, he hit.195 in 107 games with nine home runs and 44 RBI.

#27 appeared in 41 games at Triple-A before to his most recent recall, batting.290 with eight home runs and 38 RBI. On September 7, 2017, the Dodgers signed him as an international free agent.
