It was a rough start to the Freeway Series for the Dodgers. Things started well, but the end result was not in the Dodgers favor.

Location: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, CA

Starting Pitchers:

Dodgers: Landon Knack
Angeles: Patrick Sandoval

Sandoval walks Ohtani twice but due to forearm tightness, he leaves the game in the bottom of the third inning. He was replaced by Hunter Strickland.

Highlights

The first four innings were scoreless.The bottom of the fifth was all Ohtani. He hit a 455 foot two run home run putting the Dodgers on the board.

Score: 2-0 Dodgers

Knack pitched 5 shutout innings.

Top of the Sixth

Yarbrough hit three batters and allowed two runs to tie the game.

Score: 2-2

The game remained tied for the next three innings sending the game into extra innings.

Extra Innings

Top of the Tenth

Banda pitches with O’Dell at second and advances to third on a bounce out. Banda is pulled and replaced by Phillips who pitches to Rengifo who bounce hits and is out at first.

O’Dell is on third with two outs. Ward hits a base hit, allowing O’Dell to score and giving the Angels the lead.

Score: 3-2 Angels

Estevez pitches for the Angels in the bottom of the 10th with Biggio at second. Heyward leadsoff and is out at first advancing Biggio to third.

Kiké Hernández strikes out. Gavin Lux strikes out ending the game.

Final score: 3-2 Angels

The Angels snap the Dodgers ten game winning streak.
