As a Hollywood Beat magazine intern, you may have the incredible opportunity to network with some of the entertainment industry’s most established figures, up-and-coming talent and a wide variety of individuals from the general public.
You’ll not only learn essential skills related to your field of interest, but also cultivate important traits that are crucial in any professional environment: professionalism, creativity in problem-solving, and a keen attention to detail.
As a potential intern, you need to:
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Have strong writing and speaking skills that engage and motivate!
- Be professional and punctual.

Remote Internships
This remote internship requires interns to work at least 3 days a week for three to four months and is unpaid, but participants will receive acknowledgment with their name and school name when possible.

Open Positions
EDITORIAL
Research topics and sources for articles, and write, edit, proofread, and format texts to fit magazine style. Editorial interns may pitch ideas, create outlines, and develop content for projects. They could also manage and update social media, websites, or blogs to promote and share content. Additionally, they may write film reviews and craft questions for artist interviews. Excellent communication and grammar skills are required.
- Candidates for an Editorial position need to submit at least 2 writing samples.
- Intern must be based in the continental United States.
- Some knowledge of copy-editing and AP style is helpful.
- Interns will need a laptop.

Location: Remote
Duration: 3 months, 15-20 hours per week – Availability to work a predetermined weekly schedule.
Level: Entry-level
Food Writer Intern – entry level – remote

The Intern Food Writer will be responsible for writing food-related articles, developing recipes, showcasing culinary skills, and exploring the food and beverage industry. At least one year of experience creating web content with an emphasis on food.
- Creative, independent, and adaptable people are what we’re searching for. This position has flexible, consistent hours and may be done remotely.
What We’re Looking For:
- A talented, adaptable writer who has a love for food and beverages
- The capacity to write stories that are interesting for readers and search engine friendly.
- Excellent research, interviewing, and editing abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- A proactive, self-driven mindset capable of contributing to several editorial tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Pitch timely and pertinent ideas for evergreen articles about food and drink.
- Conduct research and compose pieces between 300 and 900 words or more as needed.
- When appropriate, write content with a fast turnaround.
- Ability to communicate regularly with the supervising editor in real-time via voice calls, video conference calls, chat, and email during assigned shifts.
- Intern must be based in the continental United States.

DIGITAL MEDIA
Digital Media interns will have the opportunity to work closely with the Editorial, Marketing, and Graphic Design teams, helping to nurture and enhance the magazine’s online presence. They will creatively produce short videos for social media and the Hollywood Beat magazine website.
- Intern must be based in the continental United States.
- Video production skills. You can plan, film, and edit short-form videos for social media and web.
- Interns will need a laptop.

Location: Remote
Duration: 3 months, 15-20 hours per week – Availability to work a predetermined weekly schedule.
Level: Entry-level
GRAPHIC DESIGN
Interns in graphic design get the thrilling chance to produce eye-catching marketing collateral and help with tablet, mobile, and online layouts. This intern, who enjoys working in a team atmosphere, closely collaborates with the Editor-in-Chief to realize creative concepts.
The ideal applicant will demonstrate their passion for design by being proficient in Adobe Creative Suite. Candidates seeking a graphic design role must contribute inspirational design ideas via a PDF or web source to showcase their excitement and resourcefulness!
*Requirements:
- Adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
- a passion for innovation and design
- Portfolio: a minimum of three design projects (online or PDF)
- Ability to create new ideas and designs for interactive experiences
- Ability to manage time and handle multiple projects
- Teamwork: effectively collaborate and work effectively within a team
- Careful design finalization
- Strong presentation skills and confidence in selling ideas to the team
- Intern must be based in the continental United States.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT and MARKETING
Interns will track media, help create content for campaigns and social media, and support fundraising efforts like research, database management, grant proposals, donor relations, and direct mail. They will also research potential sponsors and partners.
Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with others to set goals, solve problems, and make decisions that improve organizational effectiveness
- A proactive individual with strong analytical and research skills
- Identify trendsetting ideas by researching industry events, publications, and announcements; track individual contributors and their achievements.
- Use social media to find new leads and markets.
- Intern must be based in the continental United States.
- Interns will need a laptop.
