Nike City Connect Series Uniforms: Second Edition Unveiled by The Dodgers

On-field uniform debut On Saturday, June 22 against the Angels, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation will also hold a LA City Connect Showcase that is only open to members of the Dodgers Dreamteam.

The Nike City Connect Series uniforms are a part of the City Connect Series, a collaboration between Major League Baseball and Nike, which aims to showcase the relationship between a team and its hometown as well as the unique personalities, values, traditions, and customs of its fan base. The Dodgers’ 2021 City Connect uniforms honored the team’s relationship with its Latino fan base by featuring the phrase “Los Dodgers” on the front of the jersey and the cap of the uniform.

A City of Dreams and Dreamers

The city’s longstanding reputation as a city of dreams and dreamers is seen in the new jerseys for 2024. A city full of people reaching for the stars, where seemingly unattainable goals can come true.

The Jersey’s Design portrays a captivating, stylish aesthetic that is sure to turn heads and make a lasting impression.

The iconic LA Memorial Coliseum, the Dodgers’ original home in Los Angeles, served as the inspiration for the front typography of the new Nike City Connect Series, while the upward spiral and contrail represent the city’s quest for excellence. The hashtag #ITFDB, which pays tribute to the late Vin Scully, who famously and recognizable declared, “It’s Time for Dodger Baseball,” appears in the bottom corner of every jersey.

Freeman, Smith, Ohtani

The iconic interlocking L.A. logo and the swooping “D” of the logo script are combined to update the traditional Dodger markings. Both the jersey sleeve and the new Nike City Connect Dodger cap will prominently display this logo. The uniform fabric depicts a galaxy of stars in the color scheme of the Dodger Stadium seating, while the numbers on each jersey are modeled from mid-century typefaces that were prominent during the Dodgers’ 1958 move to Los Angeles. Los Angeles’ diversity and brilliance are embodied in this “galaxy of stars.”

With a dash of Chili Red, a tribute to the red numerals on the basic uniforms, the jersey and hat colors are a fresh spin on the classic Dodger colors of cobalt and electric blue.

Exclusively for Dodgers Dreamteam members, their families, and coaches

This Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the County East LA Dodgers Dreamfields at Belvedere Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) will celebrate the 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers Nike City Connect jersey in an event exclusively for Dodgers Dreamteam participants, their families, and coaches. The LA Nike City Connect Showcase is presented by Fanatics and Nike and will help support the launch of the jerseys.

During a Dodger Day, sponsored by ARCO, LADF will offer essential resources. In order to provide Dodgers Dreamteam players and their families with access to health tests, educational opportunities, and basic necessities, the community event brings together program partners.

Debut of the Nike City Connect Jerseys

A showcase game will mark the debut of the Nike City Connect jerseys on Dodgers Dreamteam members, featuring players from the Nike RBI Regionals the previous year. Orel Hershiser, Adrián González, and Dodger players Jason Heyward and Bobby Miller will be among the special visitors throughout the day.
