Having just won the NHL Stanley Cup Championship for the second time AND for the second time in three seasons a few days ago, the LA Kings held a parade and rally today, June 16th, to celebrate their triumphant win with their fans.
The celebration began at the corner of Figueroa and West 5th Street at noon and traveled down Figueroa to the Staples Center where a multitude of fans and spectators gathered to greet the team, coaches, staff, Bailey the Kings’ mascot and VIP’s as they arrived on double decker buses and specially decorated vehicles.
It was a great day for a parade and a day LA Kings’ fans will remember and talk about for years to come. Fans cheered loudly as team captain Dustin Brown raised the Stanley Cup high over his head for all to see.
The sold-out crowd inside the Staples Center were not disappointed either. The Kings held a fan rally inside Staples Center to say thank you to all their loyal fans. Despite Mayor Eric Garcetti’s poor choice of words as he expressed his excitement over the Kings’ recent Championship win, It was a great day in Kings’ L.A.
