At its 22nd Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards, which will take place at Flourish Atlanta on March 30th, BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) will honor gospel music icons Tamela and David Mann and Dr. Bobby Jones. The uplifting event will honor the songwriters and publishers of the best Gospel music as well as the contribution that the three famous singers have made to the genre and beyond. BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI Vice President, Creative, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton will be the hosts of the exclusive event.

We feel truly blessed to bring these trailblazers together in fellowship and celebrate their creative works.”
The 25 most popular Gospel songs in the United States over the previous year will also be honored by BMI during the program, together with their songwriters, producers, and music publishers. The event will also announce the winners of the BMI Gospel Song, Songwriter, and Publisher of the Year awards.

In addition to dominating radio, television, movies, and stages all over the world, Tamela and David Mann have established themselves as pillars in the gospel community. After touring the world as a part of the gospel group Kirk Franklin and the Family in the 1990s, the renowned couple launched their professional music careers. After starting Tillymann Entertainment in 2005 to house all of their various entertainment-related endeavors, they went on to build successful solo and collaborative careers as a couple in music and other fields. Their first joint album as a pair, Us Against the World, was published by David and Tamela in 2018. The album’s companion book received an NAACP Image® Award for Outstanding Literary Work.
Tamela Mann
Tamela is a solo artist who has recorded six studio albums and has won numerous NAACP Image Awards, Stellar Gospel Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Grammy Awards, BET Awards, and GMA Dove Awards.
Dr. Bobby Jones
Dr. Bobby Jones, a renowned vocalist, TV personality, and radio broadcaster with a more than 40-year career, will be honored. He was the host of Bobby Jones Gospel, the longest-running and highest-rated original cable show in history, which aired on BET for more than 35 years. Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, and many other artists had their first widespread television exposure because of Jones.
