Yonny Hernandez is recalled by Dodgers

With a left hamstring strain, the Los Angeles Dodgers placed infielder Miguel Rojas on the injured list and activated infielder Yonny Hernández.

Last season, 24-year-old Hernández played in 12 games with the Diamondbacks and had two hits in 24 at-bats. He spent stretches of two Major League seasons with Texas (2021) and Arizona (2022), batting a total of.198 (33-for-167) with five doubles and six RBI while playing three different positions and registering a.977 fielding percentage.

With Triple-A Oklahoma City, the Venezuelan native was hitting.308 (4-for-13) with two RBIs through four games. He played in 18 games during Spring Training, hitting.273 (9-for-33) with three doubles, one triple, and two RBI. On December 15, 2022, he was acquired from the Oakland Athletics via trade for cash considerations.

For the Dodgers in season, Rojas, 34, appeared in 11 games and hit.125 (4-for-32) with one double and three walks. He is in his 10th season in the Major Leagues and has a career batting average of.259 (738-for-2851) along with 140 doubles, 39 home runs, and 269 RBI. He was acquired from the Miami Marlins on January 11, 2023 in exchange for infielder Jacob Amaya.
