He has had multiple Tommy John surgeries, and the Dodgers’ two-way player injured his shoulder in Game 2 of the 2024 World Series while attempting to steal a base in the seventh inning.
He underwent arthroscopic surgery for a labrum tear caused by a left shoulder dislocation on October 26.

But the WAIT is Nearly Over—Ohtani is set to pitch in tonight’s game against the San Diego Padres.

Sunday night, June 15, the Dodgers stated that he would start the game, June 16, at Dodger Stadium.
