Another close game that didn’t go our way. The Dodgers lost to Baltimore 2–1 on Friday night at Camden Yards, marking their fourth loss in a row.
Shohei Ohtani stepped up in a surprise start, and Freddie Freeman provided the only highlight with a home run and a couple of hits.
However, the team’s attempts to rally fell short, and Samuel Basallo ended the game in a heartbreaking way with a walk-off home run.
To make things worse, Dalton Rushing left the game with a leg injury, adding to the team’s catching issues. It’s time to recover tomorrow—with better health and improved results.
Game Recap — September 5, 2025
The Baltimore Orioles won against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a thrilling finish, securing a 2–1 victory thanks to a dramatic two-out solo home run by rookie Samuel Basallo in the bottom of the ninth.
Shohei Ohtani came in to start the game because Tyler Glasnow had some back problems. He pitched 3⅔ innings without giving up any runs before someone else took over.
Dean Kremer, who started for the Orioles, had to leave the game early—after pitching three no-hit innings—because of some pain in his forearm, which made people worry about a possible serious injury.
Freddie Freeman was the only player who really stood out for the Dodgers, hitting 2 out of 4 and smashing his 19th home run of the season.
Both teams had a hard time hitting, getting only five hits each. They also had nine walks altogether and missed several chances to score when runners were on base.
Setback:
The Dodgers not only lost the game, but they also faced a setback with their catching position: Dalton Rushing got a bruise on his lower leg after hitting it with a foul ball and needed assistance to leave the field.
The X-rays didn’t show any damage, but they are planning to do a CT scan; he is likely to miss at least the next game and might end up on the injured list.
