Whitney Houston‘s voice returns to the stage in The Voice of Whitney: A Symphonic Celebration, a concert series launched in August 2024 by The Estate of Whitney E. Houston, Primary Wave Music, and Park Avenue Artists. It showcases Houston’s iconic vocals alongside live orchestras and rare footage, creating a powerful experience that honors her lasting legacy.
Houston’s estate and Park Avenue Artists needed solo vocals from her songs, but the original multitrack recordings are missing, which created a technical issue.
How They Overcame the Problem
To tackle this issue, they reached out to Moises, an AI-driven music platform that uses stem separation technology to separate individual instruments and vocals from tracks. By utilizing Moises’ sophisticated algorithms, Park Avenue Artists were able to pull Houston’s vocals from her songs, creating audio that was almost studio quality, which allowed the creative team to achieve their vision while respecting her legacy.
Moises CEO Geraldo Ramos explains that achieving high-quality stem separation was crucial for isolating Whitney’s vocals from mixed recordings, highlighting that advances in stem separation technology now allow for emotional preservation in performances, which was not possible five years ago.
“We knew this had to be done right,” says Pat Houston, Executor of The Estate of Whitney E. Houston. “Moises and our partner Park Avenue Artists elevated the idea with the heart, care, and creative excellence that Whitney always embodied. The result is something truly special: a gift for longtime fans and a powerful introduction for a new generation discovering her voice.”

Ross Michaels, co-president of Park Avenue Artists, states that the project showcases how legacy artists and their estates can enhance music experiences using AI technology. “The Voice of Whitney” is the first in a series of collaborations aimed at revealing new aspects of an artist’s work, demonstrating how AI can both honor artists’ legacies and enrich audience experiences respectfully.
Music AI is Being Used to Provide Legacy Artist Estates with Enhanced Musical Experiences
Music AI will collaborate with Park Avenue Artists on future projects to extend access to advanced audio models, assisting legacy artist estates in creating respectful, AI-enhanced musical experiences.
