The Los Angeles Dodgers faced off against the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 1 of the 2025 World Series tonight at Rogers Centre. Things started off in the right direction as the Dodgers got on the board first and were leading 2-0 until the 4th inning.

The Blue Jays tied the score, took off and didn’t look back.

After taking a quick 2–0 lead, the Dodgers saw the Blue Jays turn the game around in the sixth inning with a nine-run rally highlighted by a grand slam from Addison Barger.

The Dodgers’ chances for a championship suffered early on: even with an effort by Shohei Ohtani, the gap was too wide.

Blake Snell struggled early, and the bullpen gave Toronto’s offense a chance to take control.

Final Score: 11-4 Blue Jays

Dodgers must regroup fast.

• The Dodgers scored first: RBI singles by Kiké Hernández and Will Smith gave L.A. a 2–0 lead through three innings.
• The Blue Jays fought back in the 4th when Daulton Varsho hit a two-run homer to tie the game at 2–2.
• The turning point: in the bottom of the 6th, Toronto scored nine runs, including a grand slam by Addison Barger — the first pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history.
• Although the Dodgers got a two-run homer from Shohei Ohtani in the 7th, the deficit was already too large to overcome.
• For the Dodgers, pitcher Blake Snell gave up five earned runs and the bullpen struggled.
