The countdown to the 98th Academy Awards is on, with new presenters, major performances, and traffic plans announced for Oscars weekend.
The ceremony is on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Conan O’Brien on ABC and Hulu starting at 7 p.m. ET. The red carpet show begins at 6:30 p.m. ET.

A-List Presenters Join the Oscars Stage
Producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan confirmed a new group of presenters who will take the stage during the ceremony.

Newly announced presenters include:

• Robert Downey Jr.
• Anne Hathaway
• Paul Mescal
• Gwyneth Paltrow
They join a previously announced lineup that includes:

• Javier Bardem

Music From “Sinners” and “KPop Demon Hunters” Takes Center Stage
This year’s event will showcase music from two big movies. The producers mention that the performances demonstrate how music improves the storytelling in films.
The first segment features the animated film KPop Demon Hunters, starting with traditional Korean musicians and dancers before EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, and REI AMI perform the Oscar-nominated song “Golden” for the film’s group HUNTR/X.
Another major performance centers on Sinners, showcasing musicians Miles Caton and Raphael Saadiq as they perform the nominated song “I Lied To You.”
The tribute will also feature appearances from:

• Brittany Howard
• Christone “Kingfish” Ingram
• Jayme Lawson

Hollywood Boulevard Closures Begin Ahead of the Oscars
Large sections of Hollywood will close to traffic as crews prepare the red carpet and press areas near the Dolby Theatre.
Hollywood Boulevard is closed between Orange Drive and Highland Avenue beginning March 5 at 12:01 a.m. The closure continues until 6 a.m. on March 18.
Transit changes will also affect the area. Bus routes will shift and subway trains will bypass the Ovation Hollywood station after the final train on March 14. Service returns after the first train on March 16.
Additional streets and sidewalks will close at various times between March 1 and Oscars Sunday on March 15.

The Oscars Reach a Global Audience
The 98th Academy Awards will broadcast live in more than 200 territories worldwide. The ceremony continues one of Hollywood’s longest running celebrations of film and creative achievement.

Viewers can watch the broadcast on ABC or stream the ceremony live on Hulu beginning Sunday, March 15.
