As the Dodgers prepare to host the Arizona Diamondbacks in a three-game series, star player Shohei Ohtani will not take the mound this evening as planned because of continued irritation in his left knee. The two-way star will be the designated hitter for the Dodgers for the rest of this series.
Plans to prepare Ohtani for the second half of the season are being activated; he will undergo some interventions on his knee to put him in the best position to return to full playing ability.
Roberts on Ohtani’s Knee Treatment
According to @DodgerInsider, Dave Roberts said the treatment Shohei Ohtani will receive won’t impact his pitching plan in the second half. He will get his knee drained on Sunday.
“He will be ready in the second half.”

Ohtani Out for the 2026 All-Star Game
The Dodgers also stated that Ohtani will not travel to Philadelphia to take part in the upcoming 2026 All-Star Game. His absence may be disappointing for fans, but the organization prefers the long-term benefits of having Ohtani at full strength when the games matter most.
