Incredible Achievements
This five-time Grammy nominee has made a name for himself in the music industry with his incredible songwriting skills. His songs have been performed by some of the biggest names in the business, including Rascal Flatts, Scotty McCreery, Casting Crowns, Michael W. Smith, and Amy Grant. With an impressive 30 #1 songs under his belt, it’s no wonder that West is considered one of the most talented artists and songwriters of our time.
But that’s not all! West has also released 11 albums, featuring hits like “The Motions” and “Hello, My Name Is,” which have both been certified by the RIAA. His work has earned him numerous awards, including a Billboard Music Award, an American Music Award, multiple Dove Awards, and even a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
West’s talents don’t stop there. He’s also an accomplished author, having written six books, and he’s even created a nonprofit ministry called popwe with his father. ASCAP Golden Note Award
The legendary American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, or ASCAP, known for being non-profit, is set to bestow the coveted ASCAP Golden Note Award upon the illustrious songwriter and artist, Matthew West.
“Matthew’s remarkable gift for lifting others up with his music transcends genre or format,” said ASCAP Chairman of the Board and President Paul Williams. “He is one of our most- lauded Christian songwriters and artists and from the start of his nearly two-decade career, stars from Christian, country, and pop music have brought his passionate and profound songs of hope and healing to audiences around the world. We congratulate him on this well-deserved award.”
Celebrating the Best of the Best in Christian Music
ASCAP’s Christian Music Awards Celebration is just around the corner, happening on Monday, October 2 in the vibrant city of Nashville. This exclusive, invitation-only party is the ultimate tribute to the talented songwriters and publishers behind ASCAP‘s most performed songs in Christian music over the past year. And the highlight of the night? The presentation of the coveted award that recognizes the cream of the crop in this genre. It’s going to be a night to remember, filled with music, excitement, and recognition of the incredible talent that makes Christian music so special.
Songwriters, composers, and performers who have accomplished significant career milestones are given the ASCAP Golden Note Award. Previous winners include Mary Mary, Michael W. Smith, Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, and Reba McEntire.
