52nd Annie AwardsTM Call for Entries: Submissions, Deadlines, and Details

Acknowledging distinction in the animation industry, the 52nd Annie AwardsTM encompass 37 categories: Student Films, TV/Media Production, Sponsored Production, Animated Feature, Animated Feature-Independent, and Achievement.

Animation projects that were released in the US between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024 are eligible to enter and be considered. Short subjects, special projects, sponsored productions, student films, and films in competition from Annie Award qualifying festivals are exceptions that may submit with or without a U.S. distribution.

Submissions Deadline

The deadline for submissions is October 30, 2024; they opened on July 22. The cost of each submission varies from $150 to $275, with the amount determined by the date of entry fund receipt. To get the greatest pricing, submitters are urged to file as soon as possible.

Important dates to remember during “the 52nd Annie AwardsTM season are as follows:

• Deadline for Call for Judges – Monday, August 18, 2024;
• Deadline for Juried Award Submissions – Monday, August 18, 2024;
• Nominations and Juried Award recipients announced – Friday, December 20, 2024;
• Online balloting begins – Wednesday, January 22, 2025;
• Deadline to cast Annie Awards ballots – Saturday, February 2, 2025
• The 52nd Annie Awards – Saturday, February 8, 2025

Call for Judges

The Call for Judges is being held by ASIFA-Hollywood from now until August 19, 2024. Regardless of whether they have applied before or are enrolling for the first time, all judges are required to submit an application for this Annie cycle. Judges must have an established career in animation and excellent professional credentials in at least one Annie Award category in order to be eligible for a nomination committee. However, they are not required to be members of ASIFA-Hollywood.

Membership Drive

Additionally, ASIFA-Hollywood’s Annual Membership Drive, which runs until January 10, 2025, and its Honorary Juried Award Nominations, which run through August 19, 2024, began on July 22, 2024.

Advancing Animation Art

The world’s first and preeminent professional association for advancing animation art and honoring its creators is ASIFA-Hollywood. Through its membership, ASIFA-Hollywood, the biggest chapter of the global organization ASIFA, now sponsors a variety of animation-related events and preservation initiatives. The Animation Archive, Animation Aid Foundation, preservation of animated films, assistance for open source software, special events, classes, and screenings are some of the current initiatives.
