Dodgers win game 1 of 2024 World Series – Score: 6-3
10/2024
The Los Angeles Dodgers faced The New York Yankees in game one of the 2024 World Series game, a historic matchup that had fans buzzing with excitement. The atmosphere at the stadium was electric, as thousands of passionate supporters donned their team colors, eagerly awaiting the start of this highly anticipated clash between two of baseball’s most storied franchises. As the sun began to set, both teams took to the field, ready to showcase their skills and battle for championship glory. Each pitch and swing held the weight of history, laying the groundwork for a remarkable series filled with drama and emotion.
Before the game the Dodgers honored the memory of Fernando Valenzuela
Valenzuela died on October 23, 2024, due to health difficulties, sending shockwaves through the Dodgers community, which had not only respected his tremendous talent on the field but also valued the warmth and personality he provided to the organization. As word spread of his death, fans and former teammates alike reminisced on his incredible career and the enduring legacy he left behind, sharing a profound feeling of loss and gratitude for the influence he had both on and off the field.

Jack FLAHERTY
Flaherty took the mound as the Dodgers’ game starter, feeling the enthusiasm and pressure from the crowd behind him. The team was doing well when the first inning ended. The Dodgers’ defense backed him up well, making important plays that kept the momentum in their favor and set the stage for a great game.
Fifth inning – Dodgers score
With the score tied at 0-0 in the fifth inning, the Dodgers look to gain momentum and demonstrate that this is a game for them! Kike Hernandez approaches the plate, filled with determination, and hits a triple that draws in the crowd! Moments later, Will Smith comes up and, with dedication, hits a sacrifice fly that sends Hernandez home, putting the Dodgers one step closer to victory!
Score: 1-0
Sixth and Seventh innings
The sixth inning gave the Yankees some hope when Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run home run giving them the lead.
Score: 2-1
Flaherty’s night was complete, and GRATEROL confidently stepped in to pitch during the seventh inning for the team. The Yankees failed to score against Graterol, yet the Dodgers couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity, remaining unable to tie or take the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Bottom of the eighth
Ohtani’s line drive flew off the wall, effortlessly turning into a double as he glided into second base. With the Yankees infielder fumbling the ball, Ohtani seized the opportunity to advance to third, igniting a wave of excitement among the fans and instilling a sense of hope in the Dodgers.
Mookie Betts came through with a center field sacrifice fly, allowing Ohtani to sprint home and excitingly tie the score at 2-2!
Extra Innings are in order – Fan Interference
Both teams poured their hearts into breaking the tie in the nail-biting ninth inning, but other plans took center stage. In a dramatic moment, Yankees’ Gleyber Torres launched what seemed like a sure home run, only to have a fan’s interference snatch that glory away, resulting in a gut-wrenching ground-rule double instead.
Top of the tenth
The intensity of the game heightened at the top of the tenth inning as Dodgers fans felt their hearts race when the Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm singled, successfully stole second base, and then advanced home following Rizzo’s out at second and the absence of a play at first on Anthony Volpe.
Score: 3-2
Bringing home the Gold (Dodger Blue) in the bottom of the tenth
It felt like an uphill battle for the Boys in Blue, trailing by one, especially with the former Dodger Alex Verdugo pulling off a sensational catch off Ohtani. With only two outs, the Yankees made the bold decision to intentionally walk Betts, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown as Freddie Freeman stepped up to the plate, ready to unleash a moment of sheer brilliance!
The air filled with anticipation as everyone had to be thinking, “Freeman will not strike out; he will lead the Dodgers to victory.” This is Freeman’s moment to shine; he’s got to hit a game-saving ground ball, reach first base, and tie the game, at least.
Well, Freddie Freeman stepped up to the plate and crushed a walk-off grand slam to end the game.
Dodgers win the first game of the World Series against the Yankees with an ending score of 6-3.
