Partnership Launch
Limited edition cake raises awareness for essential services
The Salvation Army has joined with celebrity chef Buddy Valastro to release a limited edition red velvet cake. The collaboration aims to spread joy and spotlight the organization’s work supporting vulnerable families nationwide.
Why Red Velvet
A flavor tied to giving and compassion
Valastro selected red velvet to match the Red Kettle Campaign and to reflect themes of love, warmth, and heartfelt giving.
Its deep color aligns with the spirit of generosity behind The Salvation Army’s mission.
“Red velvet cake has always had a special place in my heart because during the holiday season years ago, our family baked some for a local shelter, and seeing how something so simple could bring people joy stuck with me,” said Valastro. “To me, it’s more than a cake; it’s a symbol of what the holidays are really about: sharing what you have and spreading a little sweetness to those who need it most.”
Support for Communities
The Red Kettle Campaign is a significant fundraiser that supports various services, including shelter and rehabilitation programs. Last year, The Salvation Army assisted 28 million people across over 7,400 locations.
Commissioner Merle Heatwole of The Salvation Army expressed that Buddy’s dedication to community service enhances their collaboration, which focuses on spreading holiday joy and hope to those in need, supported by public generosity and dedicated partners.
