Homegrown Tribute Returns to Where It All Began

Set in Gary, Indiana, the MICHAEL film held a special hometown screening that paid tribute to the life and legacy of Michael Jackson. The event brought together community leaders, filmmakers, and the Jackson family for a night centered on pride and remembrance.

STAR POWER AND FAMILY TAKE THE STAGE
Cast and producers, including Jaafar Jackson and Graham King, joined Prince Jackson, along with Jackie Jackson, Marlon Jackson, and Jermaine Jackson. The audience responded with strong applause as the group appeared on stage, reflecting deep hometown pride.
CITY RECOGNITION AND COMMUNITY IMPACT
Mark Spencer presented Jaafar Jackson with a state proclamation and the Mayor’s Key to the City, recognizing his performance and contribution to telling Michael’s story. A ribbon-cutting ceremony also marked the opening of a new recording studio at West Side Leadership Academy, with support directed toward youth arts and athletics programs.
