The film’s success is its casting. Jaafar Jackson gives a standout performance.

Global Icon

Some of the strongest moments highlight his mindset, work ethic, and creative process. You gain a clearer understanding of how Michael Jackson became a global icon.

At the time, MTV predominantly played videos of white artists. Jackson had a vision of reaching the world with his music and believed MTV would be instrumental in achieving that goal.

His victory over MTV broke down barriers and transformed MTV programming.

Worth Watching

This is worth watching if you are a fan of Michael Jackson and his music or care about music history and legacy storytelling.

A sequel is sure to come.
