Marilyn Monroe’s Legacy: Flesh Impact Film Unveiling

Genesis and Academy Award nominated writer and director Maggie Gyllenhaal have released the first look at images from Flesh Impact, a new film honoring Marilyn Monroe’s centennial.

Film Premiere Date

The film will premiere at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival, where Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn will receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.

Dakota Johnson portrays Monroe at the height of her career, while Burstyn plays an imagined older version of the Hollywood legend.

The Film’s Title

The film explores Monroe’s legacy through a contemporary lens and takes its title from a phrase once used to describe her striking on-screen presence.
