Los Angeles Dodgers Reinstate Shohei Ohtani and Tarik Skubal

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reinstated designated hitter/pitcher Shohei Ohtani from the injured list and left-handed pitcher Tarik Skubal from the bereavement list.

The Dodgers also optioned outfielder Josue De Paula and right-handed pitcher Kyle Hurt to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Shohei Ohtani Returns

Ohtani, 32, has been sidelined since September 8 with right biceps discomfort. Before his injury, he was batting .277 with 30 home runs and 80 RBI in 134 games.

On the mound, Ohtani has made 14 starts, going 8-2 with a 1.79 ERA and 95 strikeouts.

Tarik Skubal Returns

Skubal, 29, has made nine starts for Los Angeles since joining the Dodgers from the Detroit Tigers. He is 4-2 with a 2.95 ERA and 55 innings pitched during that stretch.

For the season, Skubal is 11-7 with a 2.85 ERA in 25 starts.

Roster Moves

• De Paula, 21, appeared in 11 games for Los Angeles and hit .323 with one home run and seven RBI.
• Hurt, 28, pitched two scoreless innings in the Dodgers’ 7-0 win last night. He has a 4-1 record, 4.14 ERA and 58 strikeouts this season.
