Did you know that women own almost half of all businesses in the United States? It’s an impressive number, but unfortunately, they only receive a measly 2 percent of venture capital funding. That’s not fair at all! However, Stacy’s® Pita Chips is here to make a difference. They have a strong track record of supporting women business owners, and now they’re taking it a step further with the 2024 Stacy’s Rise Project. This amazing initiative will award 15 founders with a $25,000 grant, mentorship, and access to valuable community resources. It’s time to give these talented entrepreneurs the recognition and support they deserve!

Attention to Funding Gap Faced by Women Founders

Stacy’s Pita Chips, a business founded by a woman, started as a small sandwich cart and has now become a popular snack brand. They have been investing more than $1 million in over 60 businesses owned by women since 2017. Thanks to their grant partner, Hello Alice, the number of applications for the Stacy’s Rise Project has been increasing every year. In fact, they have received over 29,000 applications since the project’s inception.
Rhasheda Boyd, the marketing vice president at Frito-Lay North America, expressed that the Stacy’s Rise Project aims to not only raise awareness about the financial challenges that women-owned businesses encounter but also provide them with the necessary support, guidance, and a sense of community to overcome these obstacles. “At Stacy’s, we firmly believe that when one woman succeeds, we all succeed.”
Apply Today – Stacy’s Rise Project® Winners to be announced March 2024
The Stacy’s Rise Project is now accepting applications until December 1, 2024. If you’re a founder based in the U.S. or Canada, head over to the Stacy’s Rise website to apply. The project will select 10 winners in the U.S. and five winners in Canada, who will each receive a $25,000 grant, mentorship from Frito-Lay and PepsiCo leaders, and access to a supportive community of successful women. Winners will be announced in early 2024.
