Yield: Serves 4-6 | Difficulty: Easy

PREP TIME: 5 minutes +  COOK TIME: 10 minutes =  TOTAL TIME: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Directions:

  1. Melt the butter in a medium-sized pan over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until smooth and bubbly.
  2. Gradually whisk in the milk and reduce the heat to low giving the mixture time to thicken a bit.
  3. Next, stir in the cheese, cayenne pepper and salt, then whisk until well blended.
  4. Once you’ve added the cheese, stir gently until it is completely melted and the mixture becomes smooth.
  5. Now your nacho cheese sauce is ready to be served.
  6. Enjoy it right away or keep it warm in a medium sized crockpot.
