Watkins, a native of Los Angeles, shot to fame the moment she stepped foot on the USC campus. Watkins broke an NCAA freshman scoring record with 920 points during her debut season in cardinal and gold. She also finished second in Division 1 women’s basketball with a point average of 27.1 per game. In addition to winning multiple individual honors for her remarkable freshman campaign, Watkins assisted in guiding the Trojans to their first Elite Eight berth since 1994.

On top of that, she has competed internationally for the United States, taking home two gold medals and being voted MVP at the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup and the 2021 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
