The 2024 Olympic Games will be in Paris, France, this year, as we all know, with the opening ceremony happening on July 26 and the first medals handed out on July 27.
With the upcoming Olympic Games just around the corner, Hollywood Beat magazine took the opportunity to ask stars at the recent NALIP celebration this all-important question:
“If you were to compete in the upcoming Olympic Games, which event would it be, and would you win the gold medal?“
“If I were going to the Olympics, maybe track (and field ). I’d do the 100-meter sprint.”
HBmag: Would you get the gold medal?
“I don’t know. (Laughing) There are a lot of fast people out there. I think I’m fast, but there are a lot of fast people out there.” Martin Martinez, actor

“I was an athlete in high school. I played volleyball for a year and basketball for two years, so I don’t know much about the Olympics. I only watch football. Does the Olympics include basketball?
HBmag: Yes, it does.
“Okay, I would play basketball even though I’m short. But I would say that in a different life, I would be really tall, and I would be in the Olympics, and I’d kill it, and I’d win the gold.” Chelsea Rendon, actress from Lopez vs. Lopez
Chelsea’s final comment made us both laugh because she was more than confident that she would win the gold medal as a taller version of herself. Here’s to you, “really tall” Chelsea, on winning the gold medal in basketball in a different life.
“I would participate in… I think I would participate in Taekwondo or one of the martial arts, not because I would win but because I’d like to see what it would be like to get my butt whipped by a true master. Just to experience what it was like to lose at that level, I think would be very elucidating.” Dan Hernandez, screenwriter and producer

Laughing, “I love football, soccer, so definitely that. I don’t know if I would win the gold medal, but I would compete.” Cristo Fernandez, actor
“I was going to say to watch gymnastics, but to participate, I would say pickleball, but there isn’t a pickleball (event). If there were, I would win for sure. I’m very competitive!” Maria Russell, actress

“If I had the natural talent, I’d love to be a gymnast. I don’t have that natural talent, but I would love to stick the landing in the floor dance and get less hurt than if I did the balance beam. I’d do the ribbon… do they still do the ribbon? I would participate in the one (event) that would hurt me the least (laughing).” Diana Maria Riva, actress
“Gold medal, (chuckles). Figure skating?. I can’t skate at all, so I would probably be asked to leave. They’d be like, ‘How did you get into this competition? We are going to give you a participation medal that says this person participated in leaving the event. See you later, buddy.’ That’s what I would get.” Johnny Rey Diaz, actor
It was such a pleasure speaking with Johnny and taking the time to laugh and not take life too seriously.

“Taekwondo and I would defiantly win the gold medal.” Sebastian Zurita, actor
Sebastian’s statement was made in a very matter-of-fact manner.
His straight forwardness made us both laugh because he was not hesitant about his chosen Olympic event or winning the gold medal.
The stars were not shy about spilling the beans on their Olympic aspirations, but as for actually clinching that gold medal, well, let’s just say some weren’t too sure if they would win or not!
