Two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell is signed by the Dodgers
Snell, 31, and the Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a five-year contract for $182M over the weekend. The former San Francisco Giants pitcher was introduced to the media today at Dodger Stadium.

He won his fifth Pitcher of the Month award in August after a 2-0 record with a 1.64 ERA and 53 strikeouts. He also threw his first career no-hitter on August 2 against the Cincinnati Reds, making him the fifth reigning Cy Young Award winner to achieve this feat.

A Seattle native, Snell began his journey in baseball with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2016, where he proudly built a 42-30 record and maintained a 3.24 ERA over five dedicated seasons and 108 starts. In a remarkable moment of his career, he won his first Cy Young award in 2018, showcasing his incredible talent by leading the league with 21 wins and an astonishing 1.89 ERA. His perseverance paid off as he also excelled in bWAR (7.1) and ERA+ (217), while astonishingly striking out 221 batters across 180.2 innings, proving that hard work truly leads to success.
His second Cy Young Award came in 2023, where he received an impressive 28 of 30 first place votes. This remarkable achievement made him only the seventh player in MLB history to win the award in both leagues, joining the ranks of greats like Max Scherzer, Roy Halladay, Roger Clemens, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, and Gaylord Perry. It’s a testament to his dedication and hard work, and it’s inspiring to see his efforts recognized in such a significant way.
