After a week of community service, the Dodgers Love L.A. Community Tour ended today, Friday, January 31 with a luncheon for Pasadena senior citizens who were impacted by the recent Eaton Fire and lost their homes.
This was a great way for the Dodgers organization and the players to say to those impacted by the fires we are here for you.
Lila Roberson, a fire victim, talks about how the fire destroyed her house and her feelings about the Dodgers’ luncheon for seniors to show support.
A Sense of Community
A warm meal was served as Dodger pitchers and players, including Anthony Banda, Ben Casparius, Michael Conforto, Hunter Feduccia, Michael Grove, Kyle Hurt, Hyeseong Kim, Emmet Sheehan, Blake Snell, James Ottman, and Alex Vesia, set and visited, signed autographs, and took pictures with the seniors all while helping to create a sense of community during this difficult time.
The atmosphere was filled with laughter as seniors shared stories with each other as well as the players seated at their table. It was heartwarming to see the players take the time to engage with the guests, listening to their experiences and exchanging heartfelt moments.
The luncheon provided a meal and fostered connections across age and circumstance.
As the players wrapped up their time at the senior luncheon, they shared smiles that brightened the day and reminded everyone that they were not alone in facing life’s challenges.
