The Dodgers have officially signed Kiké Hernández

Kiké Hernández, an infielder/outfielder, has agreed to a one-year contract worth $6.5 million with the Los Angeles Dodgers. They placed right-handed pitcher Gavin Stone on the 60-day disabled list to make room on their 40-man roster.

Since being re-acquired from the Boston Red Sox at the July 2023 trade deadline, Hernández, 33, has appeared in 828 games for the Dodgers, including 180 of those games. He recorded a 1.3 bWAR, 12 home runs, 42 RBI, and a.654 OPS in 126 games with the Dodgers last season. His game-winning single homer in the winner-take-all Game 5 of the National League Division Series against the Padres helped lead the Dodgers to their second World Series Championship in the previous five seasons. After hitting.294 in 14 postseason games, he drove in six runners and hit two home runs.

He has an 11.3 bWAR, 85 home runs, and 285 RBI going into his ninth season with the Dodgers. The native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, has accumulated 10 home runs and 26 RBI in eight postseasons with Los Angeles.

Hernández is in his 12th MLB season

After playing for Houston (2014), Miami (2014), Los Angeles (2015–20, 2023–), and Boston (2021–23), he is currently in his 12th Major League season overall. In 1,183 career games, he has a.238/.308/.405 slash with 120 home runs and 435 RBI.
