Tastemakers Challenge to support and build the next generation of food content creators
The Tastemakers Challenge aims to support emerging food content creators passionate about flavor and creativity, according to Edgar R. Vargas of Vilore Foods. With a rich history in Hispanic kitchens, Vilore and its brand La Costeña seek to celebrate the creativity of their fans and are looking for their next star.
Tastemakers Challenge held in several stages
The Tastemakers Challenge is a competition with several stages that will evaluate submissions on their creativity, taste, and how well they use La Costeña® ingredients.
Every two weeks, three winners will be chosen to move on to the next round, getting closer to the title of Ultimate Tastemaker.

The winners will also receive $5,000 worth of top-notch content creation equipment and a unique chance to work with Pati Jinich on a virtual cooking segment.

La Costeña® aims to uplift emerging culinary voices by featuring standout entries on Instagram and rewarding bi-weekly winners with professional-grade gear worth up to $1,500. Prizes include content creation kits and kitchen upgrades, while select participants may be considered for future brand collaborations.
How to enter
To participate, entrants need to share their recipe videos as a Reel on Instagram, using the hashtag #Tastemakerschallenge and tagging @_mexicorico to qualify.

Key dates for the Tastemakers Challenge include:
- Round 1 Winners: June 4
- Round 2 Winners: June 18
- Round 3 Winners: July 2
- Round 4 Winners: July 16
The final phase starts on July 16, with the first-place winners competing for the grand prize, to be awarded on July 30.
