The Los Angeles Dodgers have reached an agreement with outfielder Jason Heyward, securing his services for the upcoming season on a one-year deal worth $9 million.

After a successful first season, Heyward, aged 34, is back with the Dodgers for his second year. In his previous season, he showcased his skills by hitting .269 with 15 home runs and 40 RBI in 124 games. Against right-handed pitchers, the Georgia native had an impressive slash line of .276/.347/.471, along with 13 homers and 38 RBI. Additionally, he displayed his defensive prowess with a .974 fielding percentage and contributed with one assist in 769.0 innings in the outfield.

The Atlanta Braves selected him in the opening round (14th overall) of the 2007 First Year Player Draft from Henry County High School (GA).
Over the course of his 14-year career in the Major Leagues, this exceptional player has proven himself as a defensive powerhouse, earning the prestigious Rawlings Gold Glove Award four times. He began his journey with the Atlanta Braves in 2010, where he made an impressive debut as a 20-year-old.
